Digital Airport Advertising at Berlin TXL Airport
Airport advertising presents a great means to reach an international target group. In Fall 2019, WTM outdoor advertising and their partners from Latcom realized a campaign for the Brazilian tourism ministry.
By looping 4 different small videos on the digital screens of the TXL Terminal A gate ring, this image campaign sought to inform international travelers about the “brand-new” Brazil, being environmentally sustainable, modern, productive, open-to-the-world, and having a modern infrastructure and offering great economic opportunities.
TXL airport handles over 22 million passengers every year, of which 63% are leisure travelers. Placing their advertising on the digital gate ring at TXL airport was a great way to reach German and internationals travelers, shaping a new image of Brazil, and inviting them to visit Brazil. Choosing digital screens for their campaign further underlines their effort to appear modern and avant-gard.
Brazils campaign is a great example of targeted airport advertising. Beside the digital gate ring screens and the digital main hall screen, TXL also offers a wide range of non-digital advertising media like ground posters, backlit coloramen, showcases, city light posters, billboards, flags, banners and the huge XXL Panorama banner in the outside drop-off circle. Airport ads deliver brands and messages to business and vacation travelers. The perfect way to go for campaigns and branding.
November 10th-16th, 2019, Hanover hosted the bi-annual AGRITECHNICA trade fair, focusing on agricultural technology. With our British partner agency Aragorn, WTM realized campaigns for three exhibitors of the AGRITECHNICA this year. At Hanover airport, the wheel and tire manufacturers Ceat, Jantsa & Nokian placed their airport advertising for example above the staircase from arriving gates, on the coloramen at the luggage belt, on the sliding exit doors by the car rental, and on the big digital video wall at arrival terminal A. At the important train station Messe/Laatzen, they placed their advertising on a big banner and ground posters in the station hall, and on large billboards on the train platforms.
Advertising at the airport and train stations is a great way to invite trade fair visitors and exhibitors to the advertiser’s booth and increase general brand visibility.
