Barcelona–El Prat Airport is one of Europe’s leading international hubs and ranks among the ten busiest airports on the continent in terms of passenger volume. This makes it an ideal platform for impactful outdoor advertising with international reach. Especially during major trade fairs and congresses in Barcelona, the airport becomes a key touchpoint for international decision makers, industry professionals, and business travelers. More than 55 million passengers use Barcelona Airport every year, with around 70 percent of all travelers passing through Terminal 1.
Strategically Placed Airport Advertising Along the Passenger Journey
One of the airport’s key advantages is the strategic positioning of its advertising spaces. The network of portrait format digital screens across Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 can be used on both sides, allowing campaigns to target either arriving or departing passengers specifically, or, when booked on both sides, to reach all arrivals and departures alike. The displays are positioned throughout the entire passenger journey. As a result, your advertising message accompanies travelers from the entrance to the gate, or from arrival to the airport exit, ensuring exceptional visibility.
Business travelers move through the terminals with a keen eye, using both digital and analog displays to find their way, and take in advertising messages particularly intensely and repeatedly.

Looking for additional reach? The large format digital screens at the baggage belts, along with the impressive video wall in Terminal 1, are ready to showcase your message. Both digital advertising formats are located in mandatory passage areas of the airport. Every traveler arriving at Terminal 1 inevitably passes through these spaces. This creates exceptionally high contact numbers and strong, repeated exposure to your advertising message.

Airport Advertising During the Heart Failure Congress in Barcelona for Our Client Bayer
Right there in the highly frequented baggage claim area, we placed a campaign spot for our client Bayer that drew attention to the company’s presence at the trade fair. The Heart Failure Congress in Barcelona, where Bayer itself was exhibiting, took place from May 9 to May 12, 2026. The client therefore deliberately chose the period from May 7 to May 14, 2026 for the campaign to run. Four double-sided screens located at the baggage belts in Terminal 1 displayed the spot. The large landscape format displays ensured maximum visual presence in one of the terminal’s mandatory passage areas, exactly at the right time. Thousands of international business travelers and congress attendees saw the message immediately upon arriving in Barcelona.
This is how you use airport advertising to establish a strong brand presence even before visitors actually attend the trade show or conference!
